How are the New SAT test and the Old SAT test treated by American Colleges and Universities?

The answer is "depending".

Some schools accept both scores, and will take the highest score of either New or Old SAT test.

Other schools will begin accepting only the New SAT test for students wishing to begin their studies in September 2006.
